about

I was feeling quite professional one day. I made this one up and went the whole distance to mix it right. I even worked the harmonica in there.
It's a "be careful what you wish for" tale with my version of Mick Jagger backing vox. I see these actresses on television always in some trouble and the looks on their faces don't imply success. In fact, they hint more clearly at a song like this. Also, if you want to make your slide guitar sound like this the secret trick is just to record two leads as close to identical as you can and pan them at 45 degrees in both ears. It sounds so gutsy like that. And that mysterious drum machine sound? It's my secret.

lyrics

You come into town...You came into money
You pass it around... Your manager's funny
Your signature's good you get you some playthings
I know you never would but your people arrange things

....how now brown cow?
And so business is good and you got this break somehow.... So ....how now brown cow?

Your friends are all gone replaced with some strange things
A car and a house but that doesn't change things
When something occurs you blame it on magic
They keep you insured because the world is so tragic

How now brown cow?
Your business is good but you got to break somehow...

These people today they smile automatic
The lines that they say are so cinematic
Your privacy's gone you hide in rose gardens
They string you along while begging your pardon

How now brown cow?
Your business is good but you've got to break somehow
How now brown cow?
