In the blue and in the white
When was the last time you heard a good kazoo song? Exactly!
I was loose as a goose when I put down those drums and it shows!
I want to do more songs that feel just like this.
WHAT THE HELL IS IT ABOUT? I'll tell ya.
It's about taking responsibility for your county. A weird love song about an arranged marriage. You are born and they tell you where you are and you don't realize the position you are in until they have your finger prints and foot prints and a little blood just to be sure. You are issued a number and patted on the head. A little voice can almost be remembered saying "let the indoctrination begin." The cartoon version of America is pretty cool but the documentary version is hard to swallow. Murder and stolen lands and lying... Lots of lying.... As you get older you internalize a few things until they produce a fruit of a kind. The sick realization that the past is gone and we are now in charge of all this. Hmm.. Like a movie where the good-natured son inherits the position of mob boss. That's how I see it. So as far as the stars and stripes go, I approve of at least two colors on there, you dig? It's time for the stayed hand to appear. The kids have been in a rock fight in the backyard and windows are getting broken. Time to focus on the good shit we have going on here and let the evil war mongering die on the vine by way of neglect. Let's call it sanctions. The declaration is "be good or get ignored." It's a hopeful song about cleaning out the stable and getting on about waging peace and living the good life on purpose in the face of bummer situations. I'm not an advocate of ignorance, what I mean is.... do something positive or it equates to a collective negative. The status quo ain't cutting it. So to egotistically quote myself
"this is my kind of Country*...in the blue and in the white."
I hope I didn't burst any bubbles here because it does indeed make a cute little love song as well. I hope it gets taken as I intended it to be. A declaration of peace and love and a push for all that hopeful stuff we are afraid to speak about anymore. Respectfully, Brandon E. Bristow
lyrics
I clearly remember there were stars in your eyes
Just like the painting ... There was blue and there was white
I roll down the hillside in horse drawn cart
Something Italian .. It came straight from your heart.. Well...
(kazoo)
I say that I love you and you hold my hand so tight
We'll be together ... In the blue and in the white.... Yea!
(more kazoo)
This is my kind of country*.... In the blue and in the white
Just like the painting ... Starry Starry Night... Yea,
(Even more kazoo....))) ....
Oh my god... . . . . .
