about

Stand to reason is one of the older songs in my musical stable. Lots of versions on cassette and microfiche out there but this is the one done to spec as they say. I think it's actually played a whole lot better by my friend David Parsa, but he was filming out of the country when this recording went down. This is my homegrown ramshackle version cut out here on the rancho paradiso with a cactus juice in my hand. Be good, B.B.

lyrics

I will stand...up to reason.. In the company..of the cruel
And your hand.. It was needed here ..ah but you... Played it cool
I ain't lookin at you
Anymore
Watching all my respect
Walk out that door
I ain't gonna listen
To any more lies
In taken what you've given .... I won't even try

Well you gotta hit the bricks...and have a look around....
You better react quick...or you know you play the painted clown..
There ain't no social security..out there to save your ass..
And your sense of indemnity..
Is just a feeling
Is just a feeling
Is just a feeling that will pass...

I ain't looking at you
Anymore
I'm watching all my respect
Crawl out of that door
I ain't a gonna listen
To any more lies
And for taking what you've given me...I won't ..even.. Try

Your mamma calling to come back
Your daddy said come too
But you won't get no mind to run back
If that's something you can't use
I'm gonna bite the big apple ....and pass it to the pack..
There ain't nobody watching you..."why the hell did you come back?"

I ain't looking at you anymore
Watching all of my respect
Crawl out the door
I ain't gonna listen
To any more lies
And for taking what you've given me.. I won't ..even .. try
Don't try it.

I will stand ..up to reason... In the company ... of the cruel
Of the cruel ...of the cruel... Of the cruel ...of the cruel..
Take that to the bank
